Plan With Me: August Reset — Goals, Habits & What I'm Letting Go
Share
A fresh month is the perfect excuse to pause, reflect, and realign.
July is wrapping up, and if you're anything like me, it went by in a blur of half-finished to-do lists and good intentions. That's exactly why I love doing a monthly reset — it's not about being perfect, it's about showing up for yourself again.
So grab your favourite planner, a hot drink, and let's do this together.
🌿 First: What Am I Letting Go Of?
Before I set a single goal, I like to clear the mental clutter. This month I'm letting go of:
- The pressure to be "on" all the time
- Projects I said yes to but don't actually align with where I'm headed
- The guilt of an unfinished July list (it happens — we move on)
Your turn: Grab a piece of paper or your favourite journal and write down 3 things you're releasing this month. No judgment, just honesty.
🎯 My August Goals
I keep my monthly goals simple — three areas, one focus each:
- Personal: Get outside for 20 minutes every day, even if it's just a walk to the mailbox
- Home: Finally tackle the paper pile on my desk (you know the one)
- Business/Creative: Batch-create content for the next 6 weeks so I can breathe
What are yours? I use my Monthly Goal Setting Worksheet to map these out — it helps me break each goal into actual steps instead of just wishful thinking.
📋 Building Better Habits in August
Habits are where the magic happens — but only if they're realistic. This month I'm focusing on just two new habits:
- Morning planning ritual — 10 minutes with my planner before I open my phone
- Weekly review — Every Sunday, I check in on my goals and adjust
I track these on my Habit Tracker Printable — simple checkboxes, no overwhelm.
✨ My August Planning Setup
Here's what's in my binder this month:
- Monthly overview page
- Weekly planner spreads
- Habit tracker
- Brain dump page for when my thoughts are everywhere

Your August Reset Starts Now
You don't need a new month, a Monday, or a perfect plan. You just need five minutes and a willingness to start. I hope this post gives you a little nudge to show up for yourself this August.
